$10K Reward Offered to Find Suspected West Palm Beach Cat Shooter

A Palm Beach County animal rescue has doubled the reward for information leading to the arrest of a man accused of shooting community cats near the Sunshine Flea Market.

Furry Friends Humane in Jupiter is now offering $10,000 as authorities race to identify the suspected shooter caught on surveillance video near Military Trail and Forest Hill Boulevard.

The disturbing footage allegedly shows a man stepping off an e-bike and opening fire on cats behind the West Palm Beach flea market.

Authorities believe the same person may be responsible for multiple shootings in the area. Last month, Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control was alerted after a cat was found dead from a suspected gunshot wound. A necropsy confirmed the animal had been shot.

All but one of the cats targeted in the reported attacks died.

The lone survivor, now named Zoe, suffered a shattered front left shoulder when she was struck by a bullet. Veterinarians were forced to amputate her leg.

Zoe is now recovering under the care of @furryfriendsjupiter, which is working with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Animal Crimes Unit to identify the suspect and bring him to justice.

Anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the shootings should contact the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office at (561) 688-3000 or animalcruelty@pbso.org.
