NEWPORT, R.I. — Stoneacre Brasserie was buzzing Thursday evening as more than 150 guests turned out to celebrate the return of Palm Beach personality Suebelle Robbins and the launch of her new memoir, Beyond My Wildest Dreams.
Friends, admirers and curious readers packed the Washington Square restaurant for an event that felt as much like a reunion as it did a book signing. Robbins, whose larger-than-life personality has earned her the nickname “Instaqueen” in Palm Beach, spent the evening greeting guests, signing books and reflecting on an extraordinary life.
At 79, Robbins has become an unlikely social media star, attracting more than one million followers with her trademark humor, polished style and unapologetic optimism. Yet her memoir reveals a far more complex journey than the glamorous image many know online.
The book traces her remarkable path through decades of reinvention. Before becoming a viral internet personality, Robbins wore many hats, including Playboy Bunny, teacher, travel agent, actress and model. One of her favorite memories recalls stealing a kiss from President Ronald Reagan during a White House Christmas celebration.
But Beyond My Wildest Dreams also explores the difficult chapters of her life. Robbins writes candidly about personal loss, addiction, and a suicide attempt that became the turning point leading her to recovery. Now 39 years sober, she shares her experiences with openness and the hope that others may find encouragement in her story.
While Palm Beach society and colorful adventures provide plenty of entertaining moments, the memoir’s central message is one of perseverance. Robbins credits her outlook to a simple prayer she has carried with her for years: “God, save the best for later.”
