WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Thursday nights on the waterfront just became a little more legendary in West Palm Beach.
Clematis by Night has officially been named the No. 1 “Best Outdoor Concert Series” in the country in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, beating out concert series in cities including New York, Las Vegas, and Nashville.
The longtime downtown tradition has been bringing live music to the waterfront for more than 30 years, transforming Thursday nights into one of South Florida’s favorite open-air gatherings. After ranking No. 3 in 2024 and No. 2 in 2025, the beloved weekly event finally claimed the top spot this year.
“Being named the number one outdoor concert series in the country is an incredible honor for West Palm Beach,” Mayor Keith A. James said in a statement. “For more than three decades, Clematis by Night has brought people together on our waterfront through music, culture, and community.”
Held weekly along the city’s scenic waterfront, the free series has become a signature part of downtown life, drawing both locals and visitors with a rotating lineup spanning rock, reggae, R&B, country, blues, soul, swing, and Latin music.
The recognition comes just after the city’s waterfront market also earned national praise, adding even more momentum to West Palm Beach’s growing reputation as one of Florida’s top lifestyle destinations.
“This is an especially exciting win,” said Angela Poco, the city’s marketing and community events manager. “Earning the top spot as the best outdoor concert series is a testament to the incredible artists, passionate fans, and dedicated team that make Thursday nights something to look forward to.”
For locals, it’s another reminder that some of the best nights in Palm Beach County still happen by the water, under the palms, with live music in the background.
