Andreessen Horowitz, one of the world’s leading venture capital firms, is opening a regional headquarters in downtown West Palm Beach. This is another major win for the city’s growing technology and investment sector.
The California-based firm will establish the headquarters for its $1.176 billion American Dynamism fund at CityPlace Tower. The office is expected to open in January and will focus on companies working in aerospace, defense, healthcare, education and other industries considered critical to America’s future.
The move places Andreessen Horowitz closer to founders building companies across South Florida and could help strengthen the region’s emerging defense technology sector.
“Many of tomorrow’s breakthrough American Dynamism companies will be built here in Florida,” said Katherine Boyle, a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz. “We want to be on the ground alongside the founders building them.”
Related Ross CEO and Chairman Stephen M. Ross said the firm’s arrival represents an important step in establishing South Florida as a long-term home for ambitious companies, founders and investors.
“Andreessen Horowitz’s presence will help the next generation of companies founded on Florida’s Gold Coast grow into national and global leaders,” Ross said.
Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, Andreessen Horowitz is one of Silicon Valley’s most influential venture capital firms. Its decision to plant a flag in West Palm Beach adds new momentum to efforts by local business and government leaders to position the area as a national center for technology, defense and investment.
