President Donald Trump has added another golf trophy to his collection – and this time, his caddies got a payday, too.
Trump claimed victory in the annual “caddies’ day” tournament at Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor, New York, over the weekend, marking what he says is his 40th club championship.
The tournament pairs club members with caddies for 18 holes on the 7,300-yard, par-72 Jim Fazio-designed course.
Trump’s winning score wasn’t disclosed, but after the round, the president attended an event honoring the club’s caddies and handed out a $25,000 bonus to be split among the caddie staff, according to Page Six.
The victory comes just weeks after Trump, 80, claimed both the Senior and Super Senior titles at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey.
Trump said he fired a 2-under-par 70 at Bedminster – then celebrated the win with some vintage trash talk.
“I won with a score of 70,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that he gets little time to practice because of his presidential duties.
“It’s called TALENT, and I have it, and they don’t!”
Trump’s golf championships have long attracted scrutiny, with critics and former playing partners questioning both his scores and his adherence to the rules. Trump has dismissed such allegations and frequently boasts about his ability on the course.
Whatever the scorecard said in Westchester, the White House wasn’t conceding anything.
Asked by Page Six about Trump’s latest victory, White House assistant press secretary Olivia Wales offered a two-word verdict: “Fact check: true. President Trump is a winner.”
