PALM BEACH, Fla. — President Donald Trump is expected back in Palm Beach for a third consecutive weekend, with road closures, fighter jets and missile-defense systems signaling another round of heightened security around Mar-a-Lago.
But his packed campaign schedule leaves the timing of his return uncertain.
Trump hosts the White House Halloween celebration Thursday before traveling to Daytona Beach on Friday for a 7 p.m. rally at the Ocean Center.
His published schedule also includes a Saturday afternoon rally in Salina, Kansas.
Meanwhile, preparations are moving forward.
South Ocean Boulevard closes Friday at 5 a.m., between Southern Boulevard and South County Road, until further notice. Residents within the restricted zone must use the northern checkpoint and present identification.
The FAA has issued two presidential-level flight restriction windows:
- Friday, Oct. 30, 8:30 p.m. – Saturday, Oct. 31, 10:45 a.m. EDT
- Saturday, Oct. 31, 4:15 p.m. EDT – Sunday, Nov. 1, 1:30 p.m. EST
The restrictions extend 30 nautical miles around Palm Beach, with tighter controls within 10 nautical miles.
NORAD says fighter jets will enforce the restricted airspace.
Security has also intensified on the ground. Military air-defense systems have been deployed near Mar-a-Lago, including missile launchers spotted on a barge in Lake Worth Lagoon and at Donald J. Trump International Airport.
The Secret Service says it continues to operate in a heightened threat environment.
Mar-a-Lago’s annual private Halloween gala is scheduled for Saturday night.
The White House has not confirmed Trump’s Palm Beach arrival or attendance at the gala.
If the visit proceeds, it would mark his 30th trip to Mar-a-Lago during his second term.
